I was
awakened Wednesday morning by the sound of powerful engines close by.
I walked out on the balcony to observe not one but three large Tug Boats
straining to keep the R-2 from being blown across the small harbor
area. It seems that we arrived in the small harbor at the same time
that a strong front was passing through the area. With winds over 40
mph and a ship offering so much wind resistance it was impossible to dock
at that time. The captain wisely, and with the help of the tugs,
turned us around and took us back to sea to await the passing of the
front.
We
had breakfast in the Panorama Buffet as we watched to see which way we
would go next. after about an hour, we started back in and finally
docked at the pier.
We
had elected not to take the Bus ride to Alhambra as a strike by the
Southern Spain Licensed Guides had been called for that day and we decided
to just see what we could of Malaga.
After
lunch we went ashore and engaged one of the Horse and Buggies stationed on
the pier for a tour of the City. Antonio "the driver" and Capriccio
"the horse" gave us a most interesting tour. As Capriccio maneuvered
the narrow streets of Malaga, Antonio pointed out the features of the city
and it's buildings.
We
did a little bit of souvenir shopping and had Antonio drop us off at the
ship.
That
evening we again ate in The Club and as they had the same Filet Minion as
we had in the Grill on the first night and also, Broiled Shrimp, I had them
combine the two on one plate for Surf and Turf. "To die for".
